The building is situated on the northern outskirts of the island near the road to the west from the Chapel of Three Sanctifiers from the village of Kavgora. It is mounted on wooden skids. It is a typical single-chamber, two-level barn for storing crops. The building is almost cubical in shape, with walls widening a little beneath the roof, and is covered with a nailless double-slope roof.
Walls are made of round logs according to the traditional method called ‘v oblo’ (i.e. with the logs ends protruding from the edges of the walls in the corners), the roof is made of two layers of boards, supported by a system of horizontal and vertical (L-shaped) beams. The entrance door is on the front (western) facade. The door has a double jamb, and the third (upper) element of a jamb is simulated in the upper log. The jambs are of square cross-section with a quarter, and the door planks are fixed together with wooden pegs. Other three facades are blank. The end of the top roof log has a filleted corner; the ends of water drains are made with diagonal cut outward. This household structure is typical for Karelian households organized in Olonets in 19 century, and it has preserved a number of archaic constructive solutions, such as a trapezoidal ceiling with complete (blind) planking or logs ends hewed by an axe.
The fascia boards are made of smoothly hewed boards with rounded ends. The overhangs of the roof are held by carved wooden gooseneck-shaped brackets.
The walls are smoothly hewed from inside, and the corners are rounded. The build-in grain bins are situated identically along the eastern wall and have three inner sections. The stairway to the second floor goes along the left wall from the entrance door; the barn floor and the first level ceiling are made of thick, wide boards, supported by one solid cross beam. The second floor ceiling has trapezoidal shape, formed by horizontal beams supporting the roof structure. All space between them is filled with planks.
