The structure is among ‘columnated windmills’ in typology. The basis of its design is a square tall framework. In the center of the mill there is an axled post set deep into the ground.
The framework of the mill is mounted on a swinging circle constructed of logs. There are revolute arms on the front and back sides. The swinging circle and revolute arms enable to turn the windmill to the wind. The mill could be turned with the help of a rope and a simple winch dug into the ground nearby. The working part of the windmill consists of two floors: on the upper one there is a horizontal shaft connected with eight wings outside, a millstone and a scoop.
The shaft has wooden cogs that set pestles of the mortars on the lower floor going. The millstone is driven by a wooden gear wheel.Besides mortars there is a bin containing flour and a grind checking device on the lower floor. The framework is constructed of planks. A dissymmetric gable roof is fixed with nails.
