The granary is situated on the northern part of Kizhi Island to the south-east of the chapel in Kavgora. The granary is of the two-room type.It has the form of a five-wall structure and it is a one-layered building covered with a gable skew roof. The inner space of the granary is divided into two decks. Each deck has its own entry.
One of the slopes of the roof forms an awning over the entrance supported by the holders and pillars round in section. The pillars are rest on the entry to the bridge laid on the logs protruding from the face wall. The windows are absent. The framework is made up of logs fixed according to the traditional method with the logs’ ends protruding from the edges of the walls in the corners (“v oblo”). The roof is plank and nailless, and it is made according to the traditional method “po kyritsam and potokam” (fir poles with roots in the form of hook support burns). The granary is a household structure typical for Karelia’s buildings in the late XIX — early XX. The element of the roof (“shelom”), which presses the ends of roofing boards, has formed as a trapezium in sections. The facial boards are simple boards with cove in its ends.
