The Kizhi State Open-Air Museum has developed and adopted the Regulations on donations of organization and persons to the museum. According to the Regulations donations can be used for technical and financial support of the Museum programs and projects under the conditions of deficiency of sums allocated by the state.

The main trends in the Museum development are:

1. study, preservation, restoration, conversation of the monuments of history and culture, non-material objects of cultural heritage and natural environment
2. reconstruction and creation of the systems of protection and security of the Museum's objects
3. development of tourist infrastructure at the site, improvement of services
4. involvement of new technologies in the Museum activities
5. development and optimization of social and cultural processes at the site
6. stimulating persons and organizations to preserve cultural and natural heritage

The donations can be given in the form of money, property, incorporeal property, and right of enjoinment, accommodation right free of charge or on favorable terms for specific purpose or without specification.

The Museum has special bank account for donations. Money donated for specific purpose can be spent only for that purpose while money donated without specification can be spent for the most urgent Museum needs based on the decision of the Museum Executive Board.

Donations are to be recorded in accounting books of the Museum and reported in newspapers, radio, television, Internet, etc. Donor has the right to ask for financial report on his donation and for additional information on the Museum's programs and projects.

The Museum's priority programs and projects to be financed by donations:

1. The parish of the Church of the Transfiguration on the Island of Kizhi
2. Study and restoration of stationary monuments of history and culture and of the museum collections
3. The Museum research
4. Study and reconstruction of the material and nonmaterial cultural heritage
5. Development of material and technical basis of the museum
6. Employment of new technologies in the Museum activities
7. Development of social and tourist infrastructure
8. Environmental protection
9. Implementation of the program of the monuments protection
10. Implementation of the program of the Kizhi Museum development
11. Exhibitions
12. Publishing
13. Revival of traditional crafts and trades, rituals...
