The third joint exhibition of well-known painter Badri Topuria and a young graphic artist Anna Gryaznova presents landscapes of Karelia (Kizhi, Syargilahta, Svyatozero, Kivatch, Belomorsk, Sumposad, Nyuhtcha) and also of Veliky Novgorod, Pskov, Veliky Ustyug.

The name of the exhibition reflects the harmony of contrast images of Russian North which gives shelter to artists and warms them with its particular atmosphere, affects with the stricking beauty of its nature and pieces of wooden architecture, and at the same time meets them with its severe climate and restrained landscapes and architecture.

One can find the harmony of contrasts in the combination of paintings of Badri Topuria, the southerner, and drawings of Anna Gryaznova, the northerner. Those two artists differ from each other by the artistic style, but joined by the commonality of the creative spirit. The Georgian motifs of Badri Topuria are combined with Karelian ones.

Badri Topuria, the artist, was born in 1956 in Georgia. Graduated from Art School and Faculty of Painting, Tbilisi State Academy of Fine Arts. Member of Union of Artists of Russia and of Georgia, member of The UNESCO’s International Association of Art, Honoured Worker of Art of Karelia. Lives in Petrozavodsk since 1994.

Being an original artist, he works in different genres of easel painting - theme picture, landscape, portrait. All these genres are presented in the exhibition. The paintings by Badri Topuria were displayed on local, regional exhibitions and abroad. The artist lectures at Karelian State pedagogical Academy. Every year he arranges plain-air sessions together with his students in various regions of karelia and Russian North.

Anna Gryaznova was born in 1984 in Kondopoga, Karelia. Graduated from Petrozavodsk Pedagogical college, Art and Graphics department, then from Karelian State Pedagogical University, Department of Art and Design, in 2008. Student of Badri Topuria. Participant of plain air sessions and art exhibitions and competitions. Member of Young Artists and Art Critics Association at Karelian Regional Branch of the Artists' Union of Russia.
