NATURE OF THE KIZHI SKERRIES

Juniper stands near the Village of Seredka

They are situated on the southeastern shore of Bolshoy Klimenetsky Island.

The thick stands contain hundreds of junipers on the rocky meadow. The height of the bushes is mainly 4-6 m. Species composition of the grass cover requires additional study. It is also a nesting site of numerous sparrow varieties, many of which belong to rare species of southern origin – linnet, scarlet grosbeak and others. Nests of black grouse and some ducks (teal, mallard) are found here.
