Uzok Peninsula of Bolshoy Klimenestky Island

The peninsula is notable for its unique environment – overripe wood abundant with dead timber of thick aspen and spruce trees, which implies the existence of populations of many rare insects having died out in other more developed areas of Karelia and Finland.

Peninsula suffers greatly because of the illegal logging, unauthorized tourists, fishermen. Thus, there is a danger of destruction and degradation of this part of Bolshoy Klimenetsky island, the loss of its natural biodiversity.

Are prohibited all forms of logging, visiting the rocky islands near the peninsula in the nesting period from May to August.

The haymaking on meadows using traditional technologies, limited grazing are allowed.

The inspection within the system of specially designed ecological paths is allowed.
