Maly Lelikovsky Island
The Island is located to the east of Bolshoy Lelikovsky Island. The whole island is covered with meadows that are secondary, because they appeared after cutting forests and removing rocks from the plots. The relief of the island is broken, with slight depressions. The vegetation of the meadows is very diverse resulting from the difference in the soil fertility and soil moisture in different plots. Four varieties of orchids can be found here. The study of the bird species composition has not been completed. Many birds related to open landscape nest on plots free from trees and bush – skylark, yellow wagtail, whinchat, wheatear, yellowhammer and others, while the wetland is a nesting site of snipe, curlew, various ducks.
